MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Here's hoping that every one of you is soaking up the beautiful spirit of Christmas in the company of those who create sunrises in your life. xoxo

P/S: I found a Yoga Journal 2008 calendar and Donald Moyer's Yoga: Awakening The Inner Body in my stocking this year! ;)

I have been avidly following your post. Learning yoga has been something I have been meaning to take up for a very very long time. With the new year around the corner, I am going to make it a point to start yoga classes for 08’. However I am very skeptical about many clubs in the city offering yoga in a commercialized manner. As such , I hope you can help suggest a nice quiet place around the vicinity of PJ/Subang/Bangsar area that would be good for starter classes. (desiconfused@yahoo.com)

hi anon, thank you so much for reading this blog.

would you like to try my teacher's place? at the moment he's sharing a space with DanceKL - it's on the same road as the Bangsar post office, above Rupini's.

Here's why Parveen's classes are so good. He's been practicing yoga for over 10 years and studied under B.K.S. Iyengar's daughter in India. His Iyengar style means that he uses props and is very meticulous about alignment, so it's highly unlikely that anyone gets injured in class. His classes are small - 15 at the most - and everyone gets individual attention. You start in a beginner's class until both you and him feel that you're ready for the advanced classes. What I love most about him is that he takes yoga beyond simply stretching your body or getting some exercise. in other words, he and his classes are definitely not commercial.

January would be a very good time for you to join, since he is currently on his yearly pilgrimage to India and will return very inspired. ;) let me ask him if it's ok to pass you his mobile number and I'll email it to you. he'll be back from india next week, so i'll get in touch with you then. do let me know if you have any other questions ok.

have a wonderful new year!
